What to expect after your subscription

Congratulations on choosing Portal Cloud! in Azure, here’s a clear, straightforward overview of what happens next. No unnecessary technical jargon—just the key steps so you know exactly what to expect from us and what we’ll need from you.

In a Nutshell: A Turnkey, Secure Service

  • You: create a simple guest account in your own Azure environment (Entra ID) and share it with us.

  • We: handle the entire deployment of your Monitorpack workspace, including all reports, security rules, and access rights.

  • You: install our collectors on your clients’ sites in just a few minutes, and start viewing all your consolidated data right away.

(*) "Collector" is the role of the server you define to install Monitorpack suite, (as no agent needs to be deployed).

Step-by-Step Process

1. Create Your Azure Guest Account


  • Inside your own Azure tenant (Entra ID), create a guest account.

  • This account must have an active mailbox (the email address must match your UPN—your Azure identifier).

  • Share the credentials for this account with us.

Why do we need this?
This account allows us to invite you into our environment, assign a Power BI Pro license (included in your subscription), and grant you secure access to your dedicated application.

2. We Take Over (within 24–48 hours)


As soon as we receive your guest account credentials:

  • One of our engineers will send an invitation link to the mailbox you provided.

  • Simply click the link to finalize your sign-up (set your password and enable MFA if you wish).

  • Meanwhile, we fully deploy and configure your Monitorpack space:

    • Dedicated database setup,

    • Workspace creation and sharing,

    • Security policy enforcement (RLS) so each user sees only their own data,

    • Publication of your application, including around 100 standard reports plus any custom reports you may have requested.

    3. Access Your Application & Collectors


    Once our deployment is complete:

    • We send you a direct Power BI link to your published application (hosted in our tenant).

    • Log in using your guest account (via Power BI or directly through the link) and explore all your real-time dashboards.

    • For your end clients or your own sites, use the Monitorpack collector:

      • Install it on each client site in seconds (on Windows 11, or Windows server).

      • The collector automatically connects using your Entra ID credentials, generates a token, and securely pushes all data into your dedicated SQL database.

      To ensure maximum security when accessing your dedicated Azure environment, administration is handled by the Monitorpack teams. For each site you wish to consolidate, you must provide the relevant public IP address.

      Security rule updates will be implemented within 8 business hours.


      Configuring protocols

      Default listening Azure SQl port which is 1433 must be allowed to outbound from the sites where Monitorpack collectors are present and using SQL consolidation with Entra ID account.
